Panel discussion, 2008 whistleblower conference

Schedule details are now available for the upcoming 2009 National Whistleblower Assembly, March 8th through 11th in Washington, D.C.  Whistleblowers, journalists, policy makers and all individuals interested in government accountability will enjoy this conference, which features speakers like U.S. Representative Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) and whistleblowers Coleen Rowley, Jeffrey Wigand and Thomas Tamm.

The conference offers a variety of educational seminaors and workshops, including a "whistleblower living history project," workshops on whistleblower law and topical workshops on subjects like food safety, healthcare and national security/domestic surveillance.  Other workshops offer whistleblowers help in dealing with the challenges of whistleblowing.  A large segment of time has been reserved for lobbying on Capitol Hill for improved whistleblower protections.

The national conference is sponsored by the Make It Safe Coalition.  Co-sponsors include the Government Accountability Project, Center for Lobbying in the Public Interest, the International Association of Whistleblowers, National Employment Lawyers Association, the National Whistleblower Center, Project On Government Oversight, Public Citizen, Union of Concerned Scientists, and District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law. Additional organizations are sponsoring individual events. For more information, see the Events tab in the top menu.
